Group 6 · Traffic light and traffic controller signals · Question 76 of 95
After the permissive traffic signal turns on, we may enter the intersection:

Choose an answer to check yourself.
Answer and explanation
Correct answer: Only when making a turn or a U-turn.
Explanation
Even on a permissive signal you must not enter an intersection if a jam ahead would force you to stop and block crossing traffic. The exception is turning, so you may enter to turn but not to go straight. The current text of point 88 names only right and left turns, while the marked answer also includes a U-turn (Rules, point 88).
The marked answer allows entering only to make a turn or a U-turn. Point 88 of the current Rules exempts only right and left turns and does not mention U-turns.
