A road section where the roadway is especially slippery. The sign is placed before the start of the hazardous section, 150–300 m ahead of it outside built-up areas and 50–100 m ahead of it in built-up areas. If necessary, it may be placed at a different distance. In that case the distance is shown on plate 8.1.1 “Distance to object”. Signs 1.13 and 1.14 may be placed without plate 8.1.1 “Distance to object”, immediately before the descent or ascent, if descents and ascents follow one another.
