A road section passing near children’s institutions (schools, kindergartens, etc.) where children may appear on the roadway. The sign is placed before the start of the hazardous section, 150–300 m ahead of it outside built-up areas and 50–100 m ahead of it in built-up areas. If necessary, it may be placed at a different distance. In that case the distance is shown on plate 8.1.1 “Distance to object”. Outside built-up areas sign 1.23 is repeated. The second (repeated) sign is placed at least 50 m before the start of the hazardous section. Sign 1.23 is also repeated in built-up areas, immediately before the hazardous section.
